An EU-funded project to identify, preserve and promote little-known European sporting heritage.
The European My Sporting Heritage project aims to contribute to the identification, preservation and promotion of a European sporting heritage that is still too little known.
The project aims to fill this invisibility and address the lack of educational tools to approach European sports culture through the prism of heritage, especially for young people. A first public activity is planned for 6 September 2024 at the University of Amsterdam, bringing together researchers to explore the national specificities of sports heritage.
In 2025, virtual exhibitions and educational tools will be developed based on the identified resources. The project draws on the expertise of the University of Amsterdam, the ECROS association, the think tank Sport & Citoyenneté, the National Museum of Sport and the associations Michael Culture and Radiona, with the MNS ensuring the overall coordination.
My Sporting Heritage is supported financially by the European Union through its Erasmus+ programme.
